What is AW?
The AW is an important measurement to maintain the chemical stability of foods, the microbiological stability of personal care products, to improve the shelf-life of a product, to predict which microorganisms will be sources of spoilage.
For example, most of the bacteria do not grow at water activities below
0.91 and molds which are the most tolerant of low water conditions grow in the range of 0.61 - 0.94.
This parameter helps in controlling the non-enzymatic reactions too.

This is why GBX Scientific LTD has developed the first instrument to include the auto-calibration feature in 1 and 2 points without the need to tell to the instrument the value of the salt.
Dirty mirror info.
When using mirror technology, the mirror may become dirty due to contamination of products used. If when this happens you don't get the Dirty Mirror Info, you might obtain completely wrong measurements. GBX has developed a way to inform the user if the mirror needs to be cleaned. This can be done very easily in only 3 minutes.
